The European Week for Waste Reduction (EWWR) encourages all Europeans (and not only) to perform awareness-raising actions about waste reduction and sustainable resource management during a single week in November.

WHY we need to prevent waste

this is the size of the problem:

The EU generates
almost 5 tonnes of waste
per person per year (2022)

The EU extracts 14.8 tonnes
of material from nature
per person per year (2022)

The average EU resident generates
517 kg of municipal waste
per year (2024)

Only 11.8% of the materials
used in EU come
from recycled materials

📢 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 for EWWR 2026 are now 𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝗛𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗿𝘆 through the Hungarian platform!

The official launch of the 2026 edition in Hungary took place at Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design (MOME), highlighting this year’s focus on material saving, sufficiency and conscious resource use.
