We’re thrilled to share with you the 2024 thematic focus!

The upcoming edition of the European Week for Waste Reduction will focus on tackling food waste. The 16th edition will take place from 16 to 24 November 2024, during which the entire EWWR community will engage in waste reduction actions simultaneously.

Every year, over 58 million tonnes of food waste are generated in the EU. This means 131 kilos per inhabitant. Food is wasted not only inside houses and restaurants, but as well while processed and even at the very beginning of its life, while still in the field.

The EWWR is ready to join this fight against food waste action after action.
