Tackling e-waste locally: repair, reuse, and digital cleanups

This year, the European Week for Waste Reduction (EWWR) focuses on Waste from Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE),one of the fastest-growing waste streams worldwide.

From unrepaired laptops to old phones and discarded gadgets, too much e-waste still ends up in landfills, incinerators, or toxic dumps abroad. The root cause is our linear “buy–use–throw away” model, which drives resource depletion and pollution.

In a new EWWR factsheet, developed in collaboration with Zero Waste Europe, we showcase inspiring initiatives that are showing a circular path forward: repairing, reusing, sharing, and digitally cleaning up electronics.
