Monaco’s solidarity event on waste collection is back!

MonaCollecte, Monaco’s flagship event on waste collection, reuse and recycling, will take place on 16 and 17 February 2024, and here is everything you need to know!

Following two successful editions, the Principality of Monaco, EWWR coordinator, and Steering Committee member since 2021, will serve as a cradle for a third solidarity event. For this, the Société Monégasque d’Assainissement (SMA) the Government of Monaco and the Monaco City Hall, are joining forces, under the High Patronage of HSH Prince Albert II. What is it about exactly?

Following Prince Albert II’s ambition to delete the word “waste” from the dictionary by 2050, this yearly event targets citizens, encouraging them to donate clothes, books, dishes, furnitures, and many others, which will be collected by local charities for reuse, but also giving them the possibility to get rid of their waste (batteries and cells, mirrors, toxic waste) that is not usually collected, so that it is recycled or treated by the SMA. Anyone can come and drop off everything they want to get rid of in one place!

In addition to the collections, there will be free events (such as an escape game, a street art workshop and a virtual reality based recycling workshop!), exhibitions and information stands on waste collection, sorting, recycling and processing.

Check the event’s website (in English and in French) to find out more and stay tuned.
