Project Name: “Fun Packaging: Recycle and Play!”

Project Introduction: This project will be initiated by the Yalova Municipality with the aim of instilling environmental awareness in children and promoting the use of sustainable packaging. Under this project, instead of plastic bags for gifts provided by the Municipality at specific times, bags derived from recycled textile and paper waste will be preferred. These bags will be designed with an inner space for coloring. During the European Waste Reduction Week, children at the Yalova Municipality recycling workshop will learn how textile and paper waste are transformed into paper.

The Project will be implemented in cooperation with Yalova Provincial Directorate of National Education.

The primary objective of the project is not only to teach children about environmentally friendly packaging but also to turn the disposal of packaging into a fun activity, contributing to the development of their creativity through the coloring area inside the packaging.

This project aims not only to encourage the use of eco-friendly packaging but also to transform cardboard bags into more than just packaging; they become a creative tool for play and learning for children. This effort towards a sustainable future will be a significant step for increasing children’s environmental awareness and encouraging them towards innovative thinking.

Packaging Design:

The packaging will be created by recycling textile and paper waste. After removing the product from the packaging, it will contain an environmentally relevant theme and be designed as an enjoyable coloring area for children.

Inside the packaging (bag) it will be written as follows:

“Colouring the beauties of the World is in your hands. Come on, open your bags and join this unique journey”.

Campaigns and Events:

• During the European Waste Reduction Week, children will have the opportunity to learn how packaging is prepared and how textile and paper waste are recycled into new products.
• Social media campaigns and collaborations with schools will help the project reach a wider audience.
• Workshop Week: There will be paper making workhop from recycling materials between 20-23 Nowember 2023.

Measurable Objectives:

• Within the first year, a minimum of 30% reduction in plastic bag usage in Yalova Municipality.
• Throughout the project, reaching and raising awareness at least 5,000 individuals about recycling and environmental consciousness, including children and their families,

Evaluation and Improvement: This project aims to create an impact that will both enable children to learn while having fun and increase environmental awareness by encouraging them to use of sustainable packaging. Such practices will not only help children to gain savings habit and environmental awareness, but also encourage them to be creative and use their problem-solving skills.Formun Üstü

Within the context of the Project a cooperation protocol will be made with Yalova Provincial Directorate of National Education. By this way it will be ensured that the Project to be sustainable in the long term.
