Our planet cannot be put in a package!
• WHAT will be done
Description:
Stage 1: We collect the garbage of a day in our classroom. We observe them. What kind of rubbish is it?
Is there any that should not be thrown in the garbage bin? Waste sorting. We keep the packaging garbage
We fill in a diagram with the kind of packages. We see which of them are not necessary. We fill in the diagram and count the redundant packages. We inform the school community about the facts of our research.
Stage 2: We think of ways we can reduce the waste in our classroom. We set a goal as a class. “Less garbage is more advantage!” . At the end of the week the garbage should be little or no.
Stage 3: We send a note to the parents withy the results of our research. At the end of the note we briefly state that my snack needs to come to school in my lunch box without any extra wrapping (foil paper, plastic bag etc). We suggect using microfiber bags that can be reused or just the lunch box.
Stage 4: We write slogans and decorate the class board with mottos on waste reduction.
Stage 5: We turn the motto into a fridge magnet and the students take it home and offer it as a gift to their families. We present our actions on the EWWR to the school community and we share it through the school’s social media and the Eco-Schools site.
