Project Objectives:

1. Raise awareness among students about packaging and bioplastics.
2. Help students understand the benefits and uses of sustainable and environmentally friendly bioplastics.
3. Provide students with the opportunity to create their own bioplastics and enhance their creative thinking skills.

Planned Activities:

1. Informing about the Environmental Impact of Plastics and Bioplastics (30 minutes)
   • Discuss the environmental effects of plastics and what can be done to reduce plastic usage.
   • Present topics such as what bioplastics are, how they are produced, and how they differ from traditional plastics.
   • Provide information on the environmental advantages and biodegradability of bioplastics.
2. Introduction and Preparation of Bioplastic Materials (30 minutes)
   • Introduce students to the natural sources and components used in bioplastic materials and explain how to obtain these materials.
   • Required materials: starch, glycerin, vinegar, water, coloring (optional).
3. Let’s Make Our Own Bioplastics (30 minutes)
   • Divide students into groups, and they will work together with the necessary materials to prepare their own bioplastics.
   • Each group will mix the ingredients according to the recipe.
   • They will understand the sustainable plastic production process by evaluating the results and making improvements.
4. Displaying Products and Creating Informational Posters (1 hour)
   • Students will showcase the bioplastic products they have created and prepare informative posters explaining the eco-friendliness of each product.
   • They will inform visitors about the importance and usage of bioplastics.

Assessment: At the end of the activity, students’ knowledge levels about bioplastics and their plastic-making skills will be assessed. The durability and eco-friendliness of the products will also be evaluated.

This project will not only provide students with knowledge but also inspire them with hands-on experiences in sustainability and environmental awareness. Workshop activities are of great importance in encouraging students to think creatively and sustainably.
