Women’s Network/EWWR – craft session

Info

WHAT will be done

Description:

The Women’s Network at Belfast City Council has teamed up with the Environmental Education and Outreach Team to organise a craft session using scrap fabric from the councils own Events team. The Events team create promotional flags that can’t be reused and are difficult to recycle. To celebrate EWWR they have enlisted the help of Mary Brady, one of the Environmental Education and Outreach Team at the council.
Attendees will hear from Mary about how she has been repurposing these otherwise waste items into useful objects including kids’ backpacks, shopping totes and reusable scrap bunting. They will then have a go at making some scrap bunting for themselves; which is a skill that can help them reduce their own textile waste at home.
