Wear, Share, Care: Clothes with a Cause
• WHAT will be done
Description:
This November, our school is proudly participating in the European Week for Waste Reduction (EWWR)—a special initiative that brings together people across Europe to learn how to reduce waste and protect the environment.
Our focus this year is on clothing waste. Many clothes are thrown away even though they can still be worn, shared, or transformed into something new. Through this project, our students will explore how to:
- Recycle clothes by donating or repurposing them.
- Reuse garments by wearing them again or exchanging with others.
- Reduce unnecessary purchases and choose more thoughtfully.
These actions help save natural resources, reduce pollution, and teach children how small choices can make a big difference for our planet.
This exciting project will be carried out in collaboration with one primary school in Greece and two primary schools in Cyprus. Together, we will share ideas, activities, and creative ways to raise awareness about sustainable clothing habits.
Our young students will become eco-heroes, learning how to care for the Earth while connecting with peers from other countries. Let’s celebrate teamwork, creativity, and responsibility during this inspiring week!
