Waste reduction and recycling
• WHAT will be done
Description:
Our institution is a disadvantaged school, in which 85% of the students come from a cumulatively disadvantaged background. The parents have low educational qualifications, knowledge is not valued in the families, most of them work in public employment.
During the waste reduction week, we try to pay as much attention as possible to keeping the environment clean, recycling and selective waste collection, as well as the importance of composting.
1. Waste collection campaign
2. Swap, sell, buy used!
3. Make your own shopping bag
4. Home recycling and repair
• Making soap: You can dissolve the grated pieces of leftover soap in water or herbal decoction, then mold them and recycle them.
• Repairing clothes: Instead of throwing away a worn-out piece of clothing, repair it or transform it into other pieces of clothing.
• Environmental hygiene education
5. Composting: Organic waste, such as food scraps, can be easily recycled in the garden or even in municipal composters, so less waste ends up in the trash.
