Waste recycling in kindergarten
• WHAT will be done
Description:
We teach our preschool children to protect and preserve their environment where they live. Together, we take care of the cleanliness of our Kindergarten and its surroundings, its yard, the life and safety of the plants and small animals living in our yard. We take care of and nurture our flower and herb garden, and the raised beds of our groups. We collect the waste generated separately and selectively, and we reuse what we can together (matchboxes, toilet paper rolls, milk cartons, bottles, packaging materials…). We always compost green waste, and we also collect food scraps selectively.
Children participate regularly and actively in these processes. The Kindergarten staff set a positive example.
In this call for applications, as preschoolers, we can mostly take part in recycling. We separate and, with smart ideas, recycle the materials that are generated in our daily lives and are suitable for recycling. We involve parents in the process and invite them in. We organize an exhibition of the tools and toys made in this way in the corridor of our Kindergarten, which can be visited for weeks. Children participating in the exhibition receive a commemorative card.
