The 17th European Week for Waste Reduction (EWWR) campaign, coordinated in Turkey by the Marmara Municipalities Union (MBB), will take place from November 22-30, 2025, focusing on the theme of “Electronic Waste” and the slogan “Turn on the Value, Switch off the Waste”. This initiative aims to promote awareness actions on sustainable resource and waste management across Europe.
As part of the 17th EWWR, a virtual webinar titled “E-Waste Management in Cities: Turn on the Value, Switch off the Waste” will be held online via Zoom on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, from 14:00 to 16:15. This session will provide a general framework for managing waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) and present exemplary case studies.
The webinar agenda includes a segment from 14:00 to 16:00 focusing on “Electronic Waste Management: Awareness Dimension”. The moderator will be Merve Ağca, Environmental Management Coordinator at Marmara Municipalities Union. Speakers will include Burak Köktürk, President of the Association for Supporting the Recycling of Electronic Waste (EAGD); Hüseyin Enes Öncel, Environmental Protection and Control Director at Pendik Municipality; Aynur Şule Sümer, Climate Change and Zero Waste Director at Kadıköy Municipality; Tuncay Canpolat, Environmental Protection and Control Director at Beylikdüzü Municipality; Aylin Özgül, Climate Change and Zero Waste Director at Küçükçekmece Municipality; Serpil Ilgın, Zero Waste Officer at Gemlik Municipality; and Caner Günhan Yalın, Founder & Trainer at Pulsecond. A Q&A session and closing remarks are scheduled for 16:00-16:15.
