The Vikings Sailing Club is not not just about sailing. We believe in giving back not only to the community but also about giving back to the environment.

We held an annual clean-up event on 5 July 2025, which involved both land and sea cleanup efforts in and around Valletta and Floriana. The event was a collaborative effort with several local entities, including Floriana LC, Valletta LC, Saving Our Blue, the Armed Forces of Malta (AFM), the Cleansing and Maintenance Division and Ambjent Malta. Through this collaboration over 1800 kgs of waste were collected.

During the EWWR we will complement this initiative with additional clean up efforts in the areas in the vicinity of the Club. We will also raise awareness about waste reduction through social media posts and during our regular sessions.

Our young sailors also learnt about marine life discovering flatworms, seastars and lots of marine life in discarded tyres, all of which were returned back safely to the sea
