Info

WHAT will be done

Description:

With our innovative institution, we participate in several projects that support competency-based education. Within the framework of natural science talent development, we implement a complex program that provides discovery experiences and experiences, covering several scientific fields (natural science, agricultural science, medicine, arts), while the children’s interdisciplinary perspective develops unnoticed. The goal of our program is to strengthen natural science competencies, explain knowledge gained through experience, utilize what has been learned in theory in everyday life, promote health preservation, disease prevention, develop health and environmentally conscious behavior, recognize, understand, and explain environmental problems, as well as develop cooperation, creativity, visuality, and digital competencies.

In addition to the professional circles, our entire school is participating in the European Waste Reduction Week project with the motto Value recovery ON, waste OFF! Focus on e-waste! .

Children can participate in the campaign in several ways:
1. “Swim with the gadget!” – Creative competition
Making a model of an old, modern, futuristic means of transport using e-waste and/or its parts in 2 age groups: for 5-6th and 7-8th graders

2. Making new things from waste – making recycled objects with the involvement of 1-8th graders

3. Making an awareness poster with 5-8th graders on the following topics:
☺ Robots in the trash: this is how the recycling heroes of the future work
☺ The digital downside of e-waste: data security and new life
☺ E-waste: the raw material warehouse of the future
☺ E-waste: the invisible danger hiding deep in the drawers
☺ The land of clean megawatts
☺ Heating a house with trash? Yes!
☺ The city without garbage trucks
☺ How can we do something for our environment in everyday life?
☺ Reuse and recycling: how to turn waste into a resource?
☺ Reuse in everyday life: the easiest way to reduce waste

Students can work alone or in pairs in all three tasks. We will organize an exhibition of the completed works in the upper school hall, which will be available for viewing from 2025. 11. 28!

4. Open professional group for those interested
☺ Value saving ON, waste OFF! Focus on e-waste! on the topic
☺ 2025.11.27.

5. Graphic arts/ceramics special circles:
☺ Decoration, making Christmas decorations using e-waste

6. We will continue our programs implemented in previous years:
☺ Composting in the school garden
☺ Program implemented on November 3rd, Silent Day:
Environmental protection-focused activity in lower and upper grades, processed according to age. Aim: The created world is our home – through the concept of environmental protection, students’ attention is directed to universal responsibility for the created world, and to think together about our relationships with nature.
☺ In science lessons, we expand students’ knowledge of the topics processed with short films, prepared ppts, tables, etc. ☺ Selective waste collection is implemented with continuous plastic cap and battery collection throughout the school year, with placed selective bins. On November 5th, we organize a school-level paper collection.
