‘Switch Off the Waste’ with Greyhound Recycling
• WHAT will be done
Description:
During EWWR 2025, highlighting this year’s thematic theme of ‘Switch off the Waste’, Greyhound Recycling will implement a dual-focus awareness and action campaign targeting both internal staff and the wider public. This integrated approach ensures Greyhound promotes practical, everyday waste reduction internally among staff while educating and inspiring the wider community to take action on e-waste.
Public Campaign: Greyhound will run an e-waste awareness and action campaign on social media, sharing: infographics and tips on responsible electronics disposal, guidance on local recycling points, including WEEE Ireland drop-off locations, benefits of repair, reuse, and recycling for the environment. The campaign will also highlight the dangers of battery waste – showing how incorrect disposal can cause fires in waste facilities and will direct people to use WEEE Ireland drop-off points or little blue battery boxes available in shops for safe battery recycling.
Internal Staff: Staff will receive educational tips via Teams focusing on general office waste reduction and sustainable habits, including: reducing single-use plastics in the office, minimising food waste and planning meals, energy-saving practices such as turning off lights and devices, recycling office paper and packaging and adopting digital alternatives.
