Scan to Save – Smart E-waste Disposal
• WHAT will be done
Description:
In line with the European Week for Waste Reduction 2025, the EkoSkola students will launch “Scan to Save – Smart E-waste Disposal,” a digital awareness campaign aimed at reducing e-waste and promoting responsible recycling across the community.
Students will design a digital leaflet containing key information about:
– What e-waste is and why it is harmful if not handled properly
– How the public can reduce and recycle e-waste
– The official collection and recycling points in Malta where e-waste can be safely disposed of
The leaflet will be accessible through a QR code printed on eco-friendly business cards (possible in conjunction with Easter Regional Council), which the students will distribute to the public at strategic points in St Julian’s locality or businesses (example supermarket/electronic shops). The QR code will also be shared on the school website and social media and shared within the school community. This initiative empowers students to become eco-ambassadors, using digital tools to spread environmental awareness and inspire positive change.
