REEE – Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment

Info

WHAT will be done

Description:

As part of European Waste Prevention Week 2025, which will take place between November 22 and 30, the School intends to promote an initiative focused on the theme of Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE), the fastest growing waste stream in the European Union.

The proposal includes an awareness/information session on the environmental impact of WEEE, in partnership with an entity specialized in the area, aimed mainly at students of the Professional Course in Computer Equipment Management.

The objectives of this session will be to provide information on the correct management and disposal of WEEE, promote the reuse and recovery of equipment, and encourage the active involvement of students in the circular economy.

As a continuation of the initiative, the students involved will organize a campaign to collect end-of-life electrical and electronic equipment, open to the entire school community. The equipment collected will then be donated to a partner organization, company, or institution with the capacity to repair, recover, and give it a new life, thus avoiding its premature disposal and contributing to its reintegration into the cycle of use.

With this initiative, the School aims not only to reinforce its commitment to sustainability and environmental education, but also to involve students in a project with real impact, promoting social responsibility, collaborative work, and learning in a practical context.
