The EWWR action led by the MAXIMA (Modular AXial flux Motor for Automotive) consortium is a pan-European digital campaign dedicated to raising awareness about circularity in electric motors, with a special focus on rare earth magnet reuse and recovery. It is also dedicated to showcasing how permanent magnets—critical components at the heart of electric motors—can be kept in the loop through smart design, modularity, and advanced recycling. Permanent magnets, which are essential for efficient e-mobility and clean tech applications, are a core focus of the campaign’s messaging. Through a rich mix of engaging content—including infographics, short animated videos, explainer posts, and interactive Kahoot quizzes—the campaign tells the story of why design for circularity, modularity, and smarter recycling matters for Europe’s transition to sustainable mobility. Highlights include behind-the-scenes insights on how next-generation electric motors are engineered to use fewer materials and allow easier disassembly, deep dives into state-of-the-art magnet recycling and recovery techniques, and a breakdown of the environmental impacts calculated by life cycle assessment. Content is tailored for all audiences, from the general public to students and technical experts, with special resources for schools, such as opportunities to host researcher visits. The campaign also encourages active participation: followers are invited to “switch off waste” by sharing posts, joining in digital games, and spreading the word on circular e-mobility throughout their communities. All twelve project partners collaborate to ensure the campaign’s reach and technical accuracy, with Fundación Empresa-Universidad Gallega (FEUGA) coordinating activities, making this EWWR action a unique and impactful initiative for electric mobility’s greener future.
