POP-UP EWWR collection

Info

WHAT will be done

Description:

The Reco Waste Management team is also joining the European Week for Waste Reduction campaign, which will take place between 22-30 November 2025, with the aim of separately collecting e-waste from business premises (offices / shopping centres) and reducing the amount of electronic devices that end up as waste.
As part of the campaign with the fancy name “POP-UP EWWR collection”, RecoWM is launching a one-week collection campaign for the separate collection of electronic devices in three facilities (offices / shopping centres). During this time, facility workers can place electronic devices that have been removed from office use and become waste in RecoWM’s own storage facilities at the designated, unique collection point. The focus is on freeing up and emptying the “stuck” and accumulated electronic devices of companies. The separately collected e-waste will be transported and handed over for recycling as part of the campaign. The plastic collection boxes placed at the collection point will be labeled with stickers, which will help participants find their way around and properly dispose of their e-waste. The collection box will also have a QR code, which will direct interested parties to the RecoWM website when scanned. The subpage will present the theme of EWWR 2025 and the educational appeals of the KSZGYSZ and other useful information.

During the campaign, we will undertake the separate collection of the following discarded electronic devices:
screens and monitors – such as TVs, computer monitors, LED displays, laptops,
LED lamps,
small appliances (< 50 cm) – vacuum cleaners, microwave ovens, power tools, coffee makers, cameras, etc.,
small IT and telecommunications devices (< 50 cm) – mobile phones, routers, keyboards, tablets, GPS devices,
batteries and small accumulators.

Before the campaign week, we ask the involved facilities to advertise the theme of the action week and the collection of e-waste at the collection points to their employees through an information circular. The amount of e-waste accumulated during the campaign week is monitored daily and, depending on the saturation of the collection containers, their contents are transported for recycling using small-scale logistics.* The last day of transportation is the first working day following the last day of the campaign week. RecoWM will send the quantitative statements and daily photos to the KSZGYSZ and the facilities. The facility and the KSZGYSZ can freely use the transmitted recordings for advertisements and press appearances.
At the end of the campaign week, the office building will receive the documentation regarding the transported e-waste (delivery note, receipt).

*We transport a maximum of 1 m3 of e-waste per location per day.
