Our school is taking action to tackle the growing challenge of e-waste (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) — the discarded phones, laptops, chargers, and other gadgets that harm our environment when not properly recycled. Through this campaign, we aim to educate, inspire, and empower our students to reduce, repair, and reuse their technology responsibly.

As part of the event, we’re holding a Poster Competition for all students.
Students are invited to design creative and informative posters that highlight the importance of reducing e-waste and instead promote sustainable tech habits. The posters will be displayed on the EkoSkola notice board as well as on the school’s social media to spread awareness.

We are also reaching out to WEEE and other environmental organisations to host a talk for students, raising awareness about the environmental impact of e-waste and the importance of proper recycling. Additionally, we hope to have e-waste collection bins placed on-site, allowing students and members of staff to safely drop off old or unused electronic items for responsible recycling.

Our school technician labs will also be contributing to this initiative by organising workshops with students, educating them on the importance of repairing and repurposing old devices, showing how extending the life of our technology can help reduce waste and conserve valuable resources.
