Storytime: “Magui’s Refrigerator” by Lois Brandt, illustrated by Vin Voguel

Synopsis: Sofia and Magui live in the same neighborhood, play in the same park, and attend the same school. But while Sofia’s refrigerator at home is full, Magui’s is empty — completely empty.
Sofia discovers that Magui’s family has no money, and that’s why their refrigerator is bare. Sofia really wants to help her friend, but since she promised not to tell anyone, she faces a difficult choice: keep the promise she made or tell her mother that Magui needs help.
This touching story addresses important and timely issues such as poverty and hunger, showing how the power of friendship can help overcome the hardest moments.

Hora do conto “O frigorífico da Magui”, de Lois Brandt, ilustrado por Vin Voguel + recolha solidária de alimentos

 

Sinopse: Sinopse: A Sofia e a Magui vivem no mesmo bairro, brincam no mesmo parque e andam na mesma escola. Mas, enquanto o frigorífico da casa da Sofia está cheio, o da casa da Magui está vazio — completamente vazio.

A Sofia descobre que a família da Magui não tem dinheiro, e que é por esse motivo que tem o frigorífico tão vazio. A Sofia quer muito ajudar a amiga, mas como prometeu não contar a ninguém, vê-se perante um dilema: manter a promessa que fez, ou contar à mãe que a Magui precisa de ajuda.

Uma história que aborda temas bem atuais, como a pobreza e a fome, com extrema sensibilidade, e que nos mostra como a força da amizade pode ajudar a superar os momentos mais difíceis.
