Everyday 800 people (between students and staff) have lunch in the school canteen. For years we have seen that many kilos  of prepared (cooked) food were wasted after not being served and we used to throw it to the organic waste bin.

We contacted a couple of our alliances and we thought that we could give it another solution. Once we have cooked everyday menu, all the food which has not been served is kept in special containers, we keep them in special freezers (respecting and following the freezing times and processes defined by the Health System and Laws). Once every two days, special transport comes and we deliver those containers to community kitchens and canteens where they are served for free to those people in need.

That way, we help our community and our students, families and staff get conscious to take just what thay are going to eat and no more, because that way we are going to serve warm meals to people that maybe could’t have lunch under minimal dign conditions.
