Kivimurru kindergarden, Tallinn
• WHAT will be done
Description:
The activity is conducted in kindergarten groups. All children participate. A nursery group (1.5-3 years old), a mixed group (2-7 years old), and two kindergarten groups (3-7 years old) comprise a total of 75 children.
Children and their teachers use old newspapers, magazines, and calendars for creative projects. They sort trash as a group throughout the week. They go through toys and books and take them to the recycling center. At the kindergarten, we collect used batteries that children bring from home and take them to the hazardous waste collection center. Outside, they clean the garden beds and take the grass to the compost bin, where they add fruit and vegetable scraps for recycling. They help the janitor rake leaves and put them in a bag.
They reduce water consumption and ensure that lights are off when no one is home.
