Giving E-Waste a Second Life

Info

WHAT will be done

Description:

Sacred Heart Junior School will be organizing a collection drive of used laptops and tablets that are still in working condition. The initiative aims to reduce electronic waste by promoting the reuse of devices and extending their life cycle.

Students, parents, and staff will be encouraged to donate their unused but functional electronic devices. These will then be passed on to the Malta Trust Foundation in support of their ongoing project “Your Device, Your Right”, which refurbishes and distributes devices to students and families who lack access to digital technology.

Through this action, the school community will learn about the environmental impact of e-waste, the importance of repair and reuse, and how small individual actions can contribute to reducing waste and promoting social inclusion. Educational sessions, posters, and class discussions will accompany the collection drive to raise awareness and inspire responsible digital habits among young learners.
