Give new energy to the Earth
• WHAT will be done
Description:
Campaign title: “Give the Earth new energy! – Collecting used batteries and reducing e-waste at school”
Description of the campaign:
As part of Waste Reduction Week 2025, our school is focusing on collecting used batteries and reducing e-waste this year.
Collecting used batteries at school: During the week, students can hand in their used batteries and accumulators, which will be safely transported for recycling.
The aim of the program is for students and teachers to work together to protect the environment, while learning about the importance of conscious waste management, recycling and reuse.
The campaign also includes several other, complementary, exciting and attitude-shaping programs:
Waste collection campaign in the Great Forest: Students participate in groups in the garbage collection taking place in the local nature reserve, thereby contributing to the cleanliness of our environment.
Food waste reduction – poster and food presentation: Our students use creative posters and presentations to raise awareness of the possibilities of preventing food waste and the importance of sustainable eating.
Waste sorting and recycling: Classes create “waste sculptures” to show how to create new, valuable objects from discarded materials.
Reuse at school – used T-shirt fair and fashion show: Clothes collected by students are given a new life: a mini fair and fashion show are held to show how old pieces can be worn in new styles.
All events in the campaign aim to make participants experience that environmental protection is a shared cause and every small action counts. Your school community has not only reduced waste, but also built awareness and responsibility in future generations.
