From Waste to Treasure – a joint creation for young and old

Info

WHAT will be done

Description:

The program is open to all ages who enjoy crafts and are interested in environmentally conscious, recycling ideas.
The program aims to:
• Show that recycling can be a creative, fun and community-building activity.
• Raise awareness that waste can become a valuable raw material if we find a new function for it.
• Strengthen an environmentally conscious attitude in the local community, between families and generations.
• Develop children’s manual dexterity and give adults the opportunity to relax creatively.
Participants can make crafts from various recycled materials – toilet paper rolls, yarn, buttons, textile scraps and paper. Children can make simple, fun things (angels, flowers, yarn pictures),
while adults can also try paper weaving, which can be used to create bowls, baskets or decorative ornaments. The goal of the program is to learn playfully and together:
environmental awareness can be developed through creativity, and waste can also be a treasure if we give it a new life.
Target audience: children, parents, grandparents and adults.
