LIPOR is promoting the creation of a Pilot Garden using an agroforestry model in an area next to LIPOR II, in Maia. In this context, a practical, hands-on training session will be organized for previously registered participants to cultivate using a less conventional agricultural approach.

Agroforestry is a sustainable practice that combines agricultural cultivation with trees and other plant species, creating more balanced and resilient production systems. This model mimics natural ecosystems, promoting biodiversity, improving soil fertility, and contributing to water conservation and erosion reduction.

In addition to its environmental benefits, agroforestry also brings economic and social advantages by diversifying farmers’ income sources, reducing dependence on chemical inputs, and strengthening the food security of rural communities.
