Our school has had a free-to-eat cafeteria since September, which allows children to put as much food on their plates as they eat. Unfortunately, the food that is not taken has so far ended up in the trash. We have contacted the Hungarian Food Bank Association, who have agreed to collect lunches not consumed by students and distribute them to those in need. This will allow us to – we hope – have lunch in a zero waste spirit that week. Our long-term plans also include a long-term cooperation with the Food Bank, for which this may be a trial week.
