WHAT will be done

Description:

  1. Cleaning Campaigns / Cleanup Actions – We will arrange a container next to the production building where employees can bring and dispose of their personal electronic waste, ensuring that the right waste ends up in the right place and reducing unused devices at home. We also invite the engineering, mechanics, and IT departments to clear their work areas of electronic waste.
  2. Reuse and Preparation for Reuse – We invite 9th-grade students from community schools to participate in GPV Estonia’s open workshops, where young people will learn to identify and repair faults in electronic devices. Each class will notify us in advance which device will be analyzed. The aim is to put devices back into use, extend their lifespan, and share basic electronics knowledge.
  3. Waste Prevention and Reduction at Source – We will launch a campaign to reduce printed paper materials. The first major step has already been taken with the introduction of HR software, which has helped our company of 850 employees save 270 A4 sheets of paper in less than a month that would otherwise have been used for vacation applications. The IT department supports employees by providing guidance on how to save documents digitally. We provide defective components from production to schools (Tartu Applied College, Elva Gymnasium) and use them in our own training classroom as teaching materials for employee training. In cooperation with our customer, we have agreed on ways to reuse specific components. We also reduce waste through our service provider, who separates different materials from components so they can be directed to reuse.
  4. Thematic Focus: Food Waste – “Food Waste Is Not Fashionable – Respect Food Completely!” – In cooperation with the Daily restaurant, we offer employees unsold lunch items, in compliance with food-safety regulations, to reduce waste and value food.
  5. Waste Sorting and Recycling – On different office floors, we will install waste-sorting bins with practical instructions, introduce sorting through videos on our internal channels, and invite a specialist from Ragn-Sells to provide employees with knowledge and guidance on waste sorting, thereby raising awareness of sorting and its importance.
