Energy in our bodies – A day of movement for sustainability
• WHAT will be done
Description:
Objective:
Children experience that “energy” does not only mean electricity – we also have energy within us, which we can renew through movement, play and a healthy lifestyle. The aim is to shape attitudes and strengthen a healthy, active lifestyle.
Activity description:
Shared discussion: “What is energy? What do we use it for?”
Movement games: “energy-gathering run”, “sunlight dance”, “windmill circle”, “human battery charger”.
Children make a poster entitled “Energy is in me!” – they draw what makes them feel strong and energetic.
At the end of the day, each group displays their poster in the kindergarten corridor.
Short closing discussion: what energy means to us, how we can take care of it in everyday life.
Expected result:
Children understand the diversity of energy, learn that human energy is also a value, and movement and a healthy lifestyle are part of sustainability.
