As a team of Klímanócskák, we are joining the European Waste Reduction Week for the 10th time. With this year’s campaign, we would like to illustrate the diverse creative possibilities and the points of connection between different layers and generations of society. We implement our program with the help of the “Energy Element in KlímanÓcska Falván” educational package that we have developed. We draw attention to the importance of waste prevention and reduction throughout the year. Children and their families receive a “waste kikos” from Klímanócskák, which we use together with the residents of the city and participating communities.
We have systematized the knowledge supporting waste prevention and reduction throughout the year in several ways, thus supporting the integration of practical knowledge and the application of solutions. We have prepared a program booklet containing the tasks of “Energy Element”. Our followers could continuously be informed about the programs, tasks, and useful advice on our “Klímanócskák” Facebook page.
We are particularly pleased that the “Klímanócskák” program has established cooperation between foreign and Hungarian kindergartens, which we continue, and our developed European Waste Reduction Week projects are also used by teachers. Special emphasis is placed on knowledge of waste types and the importance of the e-waste cycle. The media is constantly present at the week’s events.
We involve families, the public, educational and cultural institutions, companies and municipalities with our programs, reaching a wide range of social groups. Our questionnaire on e-waste maps the public’s knowledge and provides useful advice.

During the campaign, we continuously collect clothes, linen, paper, e-waste, metal waste and encourage the population to return them. I actively involve 18 educational institutions, the local government, business organizations, artists, and environmental protection experts in the collection.
Waste collection campaign in the area of ​​the Mártély Landscape Protection Area and the Brick Factory Nature Trail. With the involvement of environmental protection experts and interested parties, we examine our nature conservation areas and collect waste and garbage, while adhering to health regulations. During waste collection, I drew attention to the issue of selective and toxic waste. This waste, for example, is also good for the elements. I drew attention to plastic pollution with the series of activities that belong to the program. I worked on the problem of plastic pollution in the Tisza River and the seas and oceans with the children. I promote recycling with a plastic and glass measurement table.
My goal is to make them feel the alarming extent of the amount of waste using the Hód Huncutka Szelektál program belonging to the Mártély Landscape Protection Area. I model the flora and fauna of the Landscape Protection Area from selective waste with creative works. I implemented an extremely wide range of activities and games with the animals I created as part of the “KlímanÓcska village” program. I have board games, cards, and educational materials made for the animals I have created, with the help of which the children can learn about the habitat and characteristics of the protected animals. When selecting the materials for the finished play equipment, I prioritize the formation of attitudes, I make them from paper and packaging waste collected by the population and left over in the kindergarten, and from natural materials. I showed the children the correct techniques, they re-created used plastic bags and foil, boxes by shrinking and compressing them. In each case, I strive to return their characteristic features by observing their characteristic features in the image of the animals. Strengthening the connections between environmental awareness and nature conservation.

November 23rd: Family day in the kindergarten Don’t burn, compost everything, the hedgehog is sleeping already! Learning about the elements of composting. Using the techniques of Kata Komposzt we created a composter. One of the key activities of climate awareness is the promotion of composting, one of the oldest ways to reduce and utilize waste. I was able to bring the topic closer to the children by introducing composting. I introduced the selective waste collection habits of Komposzt Kata with a story. During Komposzt Kata’s story, the children learn how humus is made from the many leaves that fall in the forest. We invited soil dwellers and small birds to our Climate Bird garden, which we created together with parents and a specialist, to feast on the organic waste generated in our garden and kitchen and make compost soil. How did all this come about? We put together our composting pit and have been collecting leaves and green waste continuously since autumn. The elves also experience the compostability of kitchen waste all year round, we collect various fruit and vegetable green waste. During the complex activities, environmental awareness provides an excellent opportunity to develop native language, music education, mathematical skills, and logical skills. In addition to the composting process, they could also observe the stages, and the families also feed their spice and herb gardens planted at home with their own compost. With the help of the tasks of Compost Kata, they learn how to feed plants to animals living in the soil. We demonstrated the toxic effects of hazardous waste through experiments. It is extremely important that the attitude-forming activities also have an impact on families, as they are active participants in their year-round activities through various playful tasks. During shared experiences, there is a formative power of community, and empathetic thinking towards nature plays an outstanding role in the development of emotional intelligence. We made a compost board where we systematized our knowledge, which parents could also read. We also helped deepen the knowledge acquired by watching educational short films. What comes next? Several families have made small composters, so the apple core and pepper core are always put in the compost frame, and soon the little “Klímanócskas” have their own compost animals in the frame.
Ecological footprint measurement for families. It was extremely useful. It drew attention to various environmental and waste reduction problems. Involving grandparents in home utilization in our spice and vegetable garden was a good starting point for joint cooperation. We collected the remaining pumpkins from the city and donated them to the animals of the Aranyági Kisfarm.
November 24: We set up a KlímanÓcska Falva waste yard for the children in the kindergarten. Learning the concepts of waste types, recording knowledge. We playfully built the waste pyramid together with the children through various self-made worksheets. We made games around selective waste collection. But despite all his efforts, the remote control remained silent. Tomi pressed the buttons, shook it, but nothing. He threw it aside in annoyance, and Elemér rolled out of it sadly under the sofa. Elemér decided to find out what was wrong. On his way he came across many other sad, broken devices. First, the Roaring Bear lay in the dust. What’s wrong, Bear? Elemér asked. Oh, Elemér, sighed the Bear, for some reason my song won’t play. I want to sing to Tommy. Elemér tried to give him energy, but a small wire inside the Bear was broken. I’m not the source of the trouble, dear Bear, you need a doctor! Rolling on, he met the Lightning Car. Hello, Car, why are you standing there? he asked. My wheels aren’t turning, the Car said sadly. Bio-waste management in the past, we gathered experience in a playful way from the recyclable culture of the past. We made rugs from old clothes. Parents made canvas bags and pouches from materials at home with their children. Families also sewed textile napkins and bread bags in the spirit of recycling.
