As part of the European Week for Waste Reduction, an Electrical and Electronic Equipment Exchange Bazaar will be organized with the colaboration of Municipalities of Chanea and Sfakia to raise public awareness on the reuse and the reduction of Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE).

The initiative aims to promote the principles of circular economy and highlight the environmental and social value of giving a “second life” to items that are no longer needed. Reuse is a simple yet effective way to reduce waste and protect natural resources, starting with something as easy as exchanging products.

Participants will have the opportunity to browse and select free electrical and electronic items donated by citizens of Chania, as well as by schools in Sfakia that took part in a competition as part of EWWR 2025. All items will have been carefully checked to ensure that they are in excellent condition and ready for immediate use.

An Information Guide will also be distributed, providing practical advices on the prevention, reuse, and source separation of Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE), as well as Lamps, Batteries, and Accumulators.
