WHAT will be done

Description:

Title: Revealing the Invisible Waste Behind Car Tires

Type of Action:

Awareness-raising campaign (infographic & educational material) for social media

Action Description:

This action aims to raise awareness about the invisible waste generated during the production of car tires – a hidden environmental burden rarely understood by consumers.

Using a visually engaging infographic (inspired by the official EWWR templates), we illustrate that each tire can be responsible for up to 25 kg of upstream waste, including:

  • mining residues from extracting raw materials like petroleum and steel,

  • chemical by-products from rubber processing,

  • and emissions from manufacturing and logistics.

The infographic will be:

  • Shared through Ecoelastika’s social media and website,

  • Accompanied by a call-to-action encouraging consumers to:

    • Choose tires with longer life cycles,

    • Support tire recycling by certified ecoelastikaspots,

    • and reduce vehicle use through eco-driving and shared mobility.

This initiative supports the EWWR 2024 theme by making “invisible waste” visible — particularly in an industry often overlooked in consumer waste discussions.
