The Municipality of Chania, in cooperation with DEDISA S.A. (OTA), will carry out a door-to-door collection of waste electrical and electronic equipment. This initiative, originally launched during previous editions of the European Week for Waste Reduction, continues to take place at regular intervals with strong public participation.

On 24-28/11, from 07:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., the collection team will visit households, according to the submitted expressions of interest. Citizens interested in participating are invited to register and receive detailed instructions on the collection process and schedule by calling 28213 41777, Monday to Friday, from 08:00-14:30.

It is worth noting that this initiative consistently results in the collection of several tons of Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE), which, after being transported to the facilities of DEDISA SA, are subsequently forwarded to specialized treatment units for proper recycling. There, they are sorted and dismantled. The recovered materials are recycled, while hazardous materials are managed separately, in accordance with environmental regulations.
