Create, Don’t Waste!

Info

WHAT will be done

Description:

Create don’t waste ! from E-Waste

Idea: To raise awareness about the impact of electronic waste (e-waste) and to inspire students to find creative, sustainable ways to reuse old electronic materials through art.

The project will encourage students to think critically about consumption, repair, and reuse, transforming “waste” into meaningful art that symbolizes renewal and responsibility. They can create sculptures, collages, or functional art pieces from old / used electronic components (e.g., keyboards, wires, mobiles, circuit boards).

Project Description

Our school will set up a special E-Waste Collection Bins where students, and teachers, can safely deposit small electronic items that no longer work (e.g., old phones, cables, keyboards, remote controls, earphones).

Once collected, these items will be sorted, cleaned, and repurposed by students during Eko Skola sessions. Students can also create artworks, sculptures, or functional objects using pieces of electronic waste at home.

The final creations will be displayed in a school exhibition titled “Create, Don’t Waste!, open to the school community and parents. The exhibition will aim to show how imagination can turn waste into beauty, promoting awareness about reducing and reusing electronic materials.

Educational Goals

To teach students about the dangers of e-waste and the importance of recycling.

To promote creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork.

To demonstrate practical ways to reduce, reuse, and rethink waste.

To foster environmental responsibility and pride in sustainable actions.
