Community Computer Tower Donation Initiative

Info

WHAT will be done

Description:

Malta Freeport Terminals will be taking part in the European Week for Waste Reduction (EWWR) 2025 by launching a community computer donation initiative. We will be giving refurbished computer towers a second life by donating them to households, youth groups, and voluntary organisations in Birżebbuġa. Through this, we aim to reduce waste, extend the use of IT equipment, and support greater digital access and learning within the community. The computer towers will be inspected, reset, and refurbished to ensure they are safe and fully functional. Malta Freeport Terminals will work closely with the Birżebbuġa Local Council and community groups to identify those who would benefit most.

Promotion Strategy

The initiative will be promoted through joint social media posts with the Local Council, posters on community noticeboards, and direct coordination with Birzebbuga Primary Schools to help identify families in need. A press release  will be shared with local media to amplify the sustainability message.
