Circular Resources Library PAT Training
• WHAT will be done
Description:
As part of this year’s EWWR week, the Northern Ireland Resources Network (NIRN) is showcasing its Circular Resources Library (CRL) – a key initiative promoting collaboration and skill sharing within NIRN’s Network to support the growth of circular initiatives.
On Tuesday, 25th November, Repair and Share Foyle will host a CRL event, providing Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) training to the Triax Neighbourhood Management Team. This member-to-member session will follow on from the online PAT certification to focus on practical confidence in using PAT equipment.
The training supports E-Waste reduction by enabling safe reuse of electrical items, extending their lifespan, and diverting them from landfill. It also offers economic benefits by allowing Triax to conduct in-house testing and access repair expertise through their partnership with Repair and Share Foyle. Beyond immediate skill development, this collaboration creates opportunities for further learning, including additional PAT training or how to repair damaged equipment. More broadly, this activity strengthens community ties and collaboration, as well as helping normalise the shift away from disposable culture.
