A school campaign for recycling small Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE)

Info

WHAT will be done

Description:

-Student teams, will voluntarily work and construct recycling bins out of waste paper boxes and decorate them. They will also be responsible for the collection of the WEEE during the week.

-An information kiosk, handmade posters made during the Art class, digital brochures made during the Computer Science class, a post in our blogsite, will communicate the campaign to the whole school community. Our goal is to inform everyone about the WEEE management, that electrical and electronic devices can have a second life, that they can be properly treated, separated, reused, with environmentaly hazardous components disposed of safely. Schools can deliver the message about prevention of producing waste, about reduction of purchasing new appliances, reusing the old ones or parts of them, thereof, recycling the waste ones.

-Collaboration with the Municipality of Kalamaria and with the Appliances Recycling S.A. (www.electrocycle.gr) will help us organise the process of collecting the waste equipment, brought in by students, parents or teachers. The school will be provided with appliances recycling bins for the WEEE. At the end of the action, all equipment will be transferred by the company and a Certificate of Receipt will certify the legal management and proper final disposal of them by the company.

Teachers responsible for the action: Vlachoudis Sotirios, Lavrentiadou Eleonora, Chatzara Eirini, Anastasiadou Ioanna.
