We are preparing for the European Week for Waste Reduction with a series of programs, which includes both online and offline programs.
Description of the program series:

A nature park week of waste reduction – for all ages – choose your challenge!
motto: Less is greener!

Programs for schools and families with children:

1) Trash diver – Look deep into the trash!
Get ready to wash your hands, there will definitely be surprises! 🙂
Immerse yourself in the secrets of the black bin !
During the challenge, children become real waste detectives: they sort the contents of the black bin and together find out what is really trash – and what could (would have) come to life again if thrown in the right place.
We ask for 5 photos of the completion, 1 of which must be a group photo.

2) Nature Park Greening: Showcase and Quiz – Face the effects of the consumer society!
Be a more conscious shopper, think about reality! 🙂
Two downtown storefronts in Kőszeg, two mirrors of the world.
Discover how waste affects our Planet – and test your knowledge in the quiz!
You can answer the quiz questions if you study our two green storefronts in the nature park on Bem József Street in Kőszeg. The storefronts have been renovated, of course, using mostly recycled natural materials.
Two themes await you at the storefronts:
1. Earth-friendly living in practice.
2. What impact does overconsumption and waste have on NATURE?
Please send the completed quiz to the nature park green office (9730 Kőszeg, Kelcz-Adelffy u. 5. 1/3.) If our nature park message collector, which also hides secrets, is transformed in the meantime (next to the shop windows), you can also drop the quiz there, or send it by e-mail to tisztazold.naturpark@gmail.com.
(We will notify the schools directly and visit them personally. Families who choose the challenge must register at tisztazold.naturpark@gmail.com to find out the details. )
The deadline for completing the first two challenges is November 30, 2025.
Children who complete both challenges will have the opportunity to participate in the nature park mini-camp to be organized in the summer.

Programs for adults:

3) Rewrite – New life is born from a notebook
Creative recycling – paper deserves a second chance too! 🙂
Don’t throw it away, write it all over again!
Craft activity, where we make new notebooks from half-used notebooks.

4) Repair Places – Nature Park Smarties for Repair
Because the greenest object is the one that doesn’t need to be bought new! 🙂
If it’s broken, don’t throw it away – have it repaired!
We ask participants to suggest service providers in the Írottkő Nature Park and its surrounding area who can repair our broken items.
We will publish the Nature Park Repair Smart List on naturpark.hu, where we will gather repair shops and professionals from the area.

5) Household veterans – In search of timeless machines
“These machines were made for use, not for trends.”
Do you have a 40-year-old vacuum cleaner at home that still works perfectly?
Find it, show it, and tell its story!
Please send photos of your household veteran and the stories they tell to the following e-mail address: sinkovicscsenge@naturpark.hu
Deadline: November 30, 2025
The presented household veterans will be shared with the general public in the form of a YouTube video and will also be published on the nature park’s website!

Programs for all ages:

6) Creative competition – Less is greener!
Creativity is the best recycler – let it go! 🙂
Less is greener! Show what conscious living means to you!
Write a poem, a short story, or make a useful object from natural (preferably) recycled materials.
The best creations will be presented in the third nature park window in the city center of Kőszeg, with the support of the Cerka Bt. paper shop, between November 22 and 30, 2025, during the European Waste Reduction Week.
The works must be brought to the nature park green office: Kőszeg, Kelcz-Adelffy u. 5. 1/3. or sent to the e-mail address koromzita@naturpark.hu. (A time must be arranged for the delivery!)

7) Together for a clean nature park! – professionally guided tour, with garbage collection
A day for Nature, one step towards change.
Join our Cák tour on Saturday, November 22 at 9 a.m. Get to know nature with us and help it clean itself!
You can register for the tour at the e-mail address horvathcsaba@naturpark.hu. We will provide durable tools for collecting garbage – jute bags, textile gloves.

We will make separate posters about the challenges and advertise them at the same time!

The challenges will be implemented within the framework of the TinyGreen project ATHU0100039, supported by the INTERREG VI-A Austria-Hungary 2021-2027 program.
