EWWR welcomes Balearic Islands

We are happy to announce that the Department of Waste and Environmental Education of the Government of the Balearic Islands joined the campaign as a new member of the EWWR Steering Committee!

The EWWR Steering Committee makes all the strategic decisions about the project and finances it. For instance, they decide on where the EWWR awards ceremony takes place, the annual theme, and the communication strategy.

The Department of Waste and Environmental Education of the Government of the Balearic Islands exercises responsibility for waste management and prevention, waste legislation, subsidies to promote the circular economy, promotion of environmental sustainability in public and private entities, environmental education and information, and environmental participation and volunteering .

Considering the activities carried out from the Service of Environmental Quality and Environmental Education to promote environmental participation, the european EWWR and LCUE programs are very important in the Balearic Islands having more than 10,000 participants in the last 6 years.

Gabriel Bardi, responsible for the Service of Environmental Quality and Environmental Education

Gabriel Bardi, is since 1984 carrying out tasks always related to nature conservation and environmental sustainability in various sectors of the Administration of the Balearic Islands, with specific training and experience in volunteering and environmental participation, forest management, environmental risks, and environmental education, and currently responsible for the Service of Environmental Quality and Environmental Education of the Waste and Environmental Education Department of the Balearic Islands Ministry of Environment and Territory.
