Little Scientists: how much packaging does cleaning really need?
INFO [what will be done]
Description:
An activity of simple experiments with a first-grade class (ages 6–7) in Coimbra. Children weigh a ready-to-use detergent bottle against concentrated formats (soluble strips and capsules diluted at home in a reused bottle). They watch a capsule dissolve in water, build a “mountain” with empty bottles collected at home, sort packaging into the right bins and draw “my home with less plastic”. The message follows this year’s focus on material sufficiency: use only what you need, choose concentrates, reuse bottles and avoid unnecessary packaging. Families receive a tip sheet. Free and non-commercial; organised by a local Coimbra producer with the school.
