Bread Connects Us! One Food, Many Cultures, Less Waste
INFO [what will be done]
Description:
Bread is one of the oldest and most widely consumed foods in the world. It is part of our everyday lives, but also an important element of our cultural heritage, traditions and identity. Through this action, students participating in the GRAIN2HERITAGE eTwinning project will explore bread from different perspectives, discovering the connections between culture, history, science, nutrition and environmental sustainability.
A central focus of the action will be Material Sufficiency and the prevention of food waste. Students will investigate how bread is produced, purchased and consumed, reflect on how much we really need, and explore ways to avoid wasting this valuable resource. They will discover traditional recipes that give leftover bread a new purpose and share practical ideas for making better use of food.
Through a shared padlet students will exchange their discoveries, compare bread traditions and sustainable practices across countries and create a collaborative European collection of bread recipes, scientific investigations and waste-prevention ideas.
