Waste Oil Paints the Future: Bringing the UN 2030 Agenda to Life
High School Creative Workshops – November 3, 2026
“Stop Oils Into Nature” Campaign
Date: 3 November 2026
Venue: Ecomondo Exhibition, Rimini (RN), Italy
Creating artwork from preserved food oil to champion the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
As part of the new «Stop Oils into Nature» campaign, Nuova C Plastica is hosting a series of hands-on creative workshops for high school students during Ecomondo 2026.
Led by artist Marisa Cocchi, participating classes will take turns crafting a collective painting with a clear mission: to show through art that waste can become a resource, and that used oil—when collected properly—is not a threat to nature, but a material waiting to be regenerated.
Key Highlights of the Project:
-
Art for the UN 2030 Agenda: Each class will create a 1×1.5 meter canvas dedicated to a specific UN Sustainable Development Goal of their choice. Students will combine creativity, craftsmanship, and critical thinking to translate sustainability priorities into powerful images, colors, and symbols.
-
Transforming Waste into Art: The artworks will be created using recovered preserved food oil, which would otherwise go to waste. Artist Marisa Cocchi will blend this oil with earth pigments and eco-friendly products to create unique paints. Students will witness firsthand the transformation from household residue to canvas, and from waste to masterpiece.
-
The Ecomondo Stage: Set against the backdrop of Ecomondo—a leading European event for the circular economy, green technology, and material regeneration—the project brings the fresh perspective of the younger generation directly to the public and industry experts alike.
-
Youth as Digital Ambassadors: Students won’t just create art; they will also lead a communication campaign! Using Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok, they will share stories, reels, and posts about their chosen UN Goal, the creative process, and the importance of collecting used cooking oil.
-
A Shared Gallery: By the end of the event, the rotating classes will have produced a series of collaborative artworks. Displayed side by side, they will form a temporary gallery dedicated to the 2030 Agenda, proving that creativity can give new life to what we usually throw away.
Join us on November 3, 2026, as we empower the next generation to become active ambassadors for environmental protection and sustainable living! 🌍♻️
