“My old item, your new treasure!”

Our kindergarten is taking part in a collective initiative focusing on Material Sufficiency. We’re encouraging the whole school community to bring toys, books and clothes they no longer use to school. At a joint meeting on our premises, children, parents and teachers come together as a team to repair any items with minor damage, giving them a new lease of life. We then place them in the dedicated swap corner of our school, where the children can choose whatever they like. Through this hands-on experience, we introduce the children to the principles of the circular economy. They learn in practice that we do not constantly need new products, thereby reducing waste, whilst at the same time experiencing the power of cooperation, generosity and solidarity.
