Cultivating Resource Sufficiency – School Vegetable Garden

Our initiative leverages our school’s vegetable garden, linking it to the theme of EWWR 2026: “Resource Sufficiency.” We educate students on waste prevention through the practical application of the “R” strategies:

• Refuse/Avoid: We produce plant-based food while completely avoiding plastic packaging from stores, thereby conserving resources.
• Repurpose: We repurpose packaging materials, giving them a new function as informational signs.
• Repair and Maintain: Students take charge of maintaining equipment, learning how to keep items in use for a longer period.
• Composting: We return nutrients to the soil by composting organic garden waste. 

Through our garden, we put into practice the message that “Τhe best waste is the waste that was never produced.”
