The winner and the runners-up of the #EWWR2022PhotoContest revealed

We are very happy to announce the winner and runners-up of the EWWR2022 Photo Contest!

Many of you have participated! Thank you very much for sharing with the rest of the community the wonderful waste reduction actions you have carried out in this edition and for making known all the people behind the campaign that make it possible.

Without further delay… discover the winning photos:

1. “Waste is out of fashion… Let your clothes write their own story” by City of Athens

The winning picture is “Waste is out of fashion… Let your clothes write their own story” by City of Athens. The photo respected all the rules of the contest and scored the highest for visibility of this year’s thematic focus and originality of the picture. The city organised a three-day open event for all ages, with interactive workshops, seminars and thematic installations based on an entire philosophy around sustainable textiles and the environment.

This will become the new cover photo of the EWWR social media channels and of the EWWR website!

2. “Textiles for all year” by IC Quasimodo Agrigento

After recovering discarded textiles from various operators in the textile sector (tailors, weavers…), these were used as creative teaching materials. The photo by IC Quasimodo Agrigento, who took part in the EWWR 2022 with the action “Textiles for all year”, shows how old curtains have been given a new life.

3. “The adventures of Klímanócskák” by Ildikó Bozókiné Szabó

The photo that received the third-best score shows a “climate adventurer” making a toy bag from fabric scraps. This action, “The adventures of Klímanócskák” by Ildikó Bozókiné Szabó, involved students and their families in several different activities in a multi-faceted way to promote the memorisation and practice-based knowledge of possible solutions to fight textile waste.

We would like to congratulate with the winners, the runners-up, as well as all the participants.
