The excitement is building! The jury of the European Week for Waste Reduction (EWWR), a panel of five passionate environmental experts, came together online to decide the finalists for the 2024 edition of the campaign.
After reviewing 49 nominated initiatives, carefully selected from an impressive 12,700+ waste reduction actions across Europe, the jury shortlisted 15 outstanding and creative waste reduction actions. Congratulations!
Who will take home the top prize? The winners will be unveiled during the EWWR Awards Ceremony on 12 June in the city of Leeuwarden, Netherlands.

The finalist actions will be presented during the EWWR Awards Ceremony in Leeuwarden (NL) on 12 June 2025! The 5 most outstanding actions, one per category, will be awarded by the EWWR jury members and will receive a creative and circular trophy! The event promises to be an exceptional occasion, bringing together coordinators, action developers, organisations and individuals passionate about contributing to waste reduction.
The event will take place alongside the Circular Summit Fryslân 2025, a hotspot for circular innovation, collaboration, and fresh ideas! As part of the EWWR community, you’ll get to enjoy the summit, featuring inspiring talks, hands-on workshops, and a field tour showcasing circular practices in Fryslân.
