NeighborGoods: Recycle Together
INFO [what will be done]
Description:
Resulting from a partnership between ERP Portugal (Waste Management Entity) and the Eco-Schools Program (ABAAE), the Geração Depositrão (Depositrão Generation) project aims to educate and inform children, young people, and—through them—the general public about the importance of properly managing Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE / REEE) and Waste Portable Batteries and Accumulators (WB / RB).
Our school is registered in this program and serves as an official drop-off point for electrical and electronic waste, as well as used batteries, brought in by both the school community and local residents.
To take this initiative a step further, our students will be reaching out directly to the neighborhood to inform residents about our collection point. Through this outreach, we aim to foster a closer relationship between the school and the surrounding community, raise environmental awareness, and ensure these items are responsibly recycled rather than improperly discarded or abandoned.
