Join us for the EWWR campaign on invisible waste

The 12th edition of the EWWR will take place from 21 to 29 November 2020 and will focus on invisible waste.

Invisible waste” refers to the large amount of waste generated during the manufacturing process of products. Did you know that to
manufacture a smartphone weighing less than 200 grams and coming in a small package, an unbelievable 86 kilograms of waste are produced? With the slogan “What’s your real weight?” the
EWWR challenges you to get informed about the extra kilos we all carry on our shoulders due to unsustainable production and consumption patterns.

It may not look obvious, but there are plenty of actions that we can all take to face this problem. Extending the life of products by reuse and repair, buying
second-hand, renting and sharing products rather than owning them, obtaining an ecolabel and joining producer responsibility’s schemes… The list is long! Find out more about invisible waste and check out our communication tools here.

More factsheets and activity sheets will be uploaded during summer, stay tuned!

Registrations for the EWWR 2020 will open in September.

We encourage you to take part in the EWWR by respecting the official Covid-19 precautionary measures in place in your country.
