Share your things, reduce waste: Christmas Ecodesign Workshop: Creative Reuse and Packaging Transformation Techniques

   In the framework of the European Week for Waste Reduction, this initiative aims to raise community awareness about the urgency of the circular transition through creative reuse (upcycling). The main focus is to reverse the logic of discarding common urban packaging waste, demonstrating its aesthetic and functional potential in creating Christmas ornaments and decorations, thereby reducing the waste typically associated with the festive season.This action is designed as several practical and pedagogical workshops centered on developing material transformation skills and environmental awareness. The activity is based on the valorization of common domestic waste streams—specifically egg cartons, beverage cartons, and cardboard toilet paper or paper towel rolls—converting them into new decorative objects through structured manual techniques.The project intends to foster critical reflection on the carbon footprint associated with seasonal consumption and to provide students with practical tools that stimulate sustainable autonomy.
